Three coaches have been nominated for the 2025 SportPesa Coach of the Month award for November, courtesy of the leading gaming firm SportPesa, the main league sponsor, in partnership with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

Unlike October, when four managers were shortlisted after the award’s reintroduction, only three gaffers are in contention this time.

The winner will receive a customized SportPesa League Coach of the Month trophy and KSh 75,000.

The nominees are Ulinzi Stars interim coach Stephen Ocholla, Kenya Police’s new head coach Dusan Stojanovic, and Shabana FC’s head coach Peter Okidi.

Below is a breakdown of how the three gaffers performed during a tightly contested November.

SportPesa League November 2025 Coach of the Month nominees

Stephen Ocholla – Ulinzi Stars (P5 – 2W, 2D, 1L)

Ocholla was appointed a sthe interim coach of the Soldiers on October 29, overseeing his first match against Bidco United, which ended in a 2–1 defeat.

However, in November, his side played five matches, collecting eight points from two victories and two draws, with only one loss. The month featured a strong run of back-to-back wins.

They held record champions Gor Mahia to a 1–1 draw, then suffered a narrow 1–0 home loss to Shabana, before rebounding with 1–0 and 3–1 victories over APS Bomet and Sofapaka respectively. Their final November fixture was a 1–1 draw with Bandari FC.

Ulinzi now sit 11th in the table with 13 points from a possible 36, scoring six goals in November. The month was positive overall, as they climbed out of the relegation zone.

Dusan Stojanovic – Kenya Police FC (P6 – 4W, 2L)

The Serbian was appointed on November 2, taking over after Police drew goalless with Posta Rangers, succeeding Burundian Etienne Ndayiragije.

November proved a busy period for the Law Enforcers, who played six matches under their new tactician.

Across those fixtures, Stojanovic secured four wins – including three consecutive victories- with two defeats.

His debut outing against Sofapaka saw former player Edward Omondi haunt his old club with a solo goal, handing Dusan a winning start.

A 2–0 loss to Gor Mahia at Nyayo Stadium followed, before three straight wins: 2–1 against Tusker FC, 1–0 over Mathare United, and 3–2 versus Bidco United.

The month ended disappointingly with a 1–0 home loss to Shabana. Under Stojanovic, the defending champions now lead the table with 20 points.

Peter Okidi – Shabana FC (P4 – 2W, 2D)

Shabana, under Okidi, ended November unbeaten in their four matches- all played away, registering two draws and two wins.

They began with a goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Stadium, then edged Ulinzi Stars 1–0 at Ulinzi Complex.

Their final two matches were overseen by assistant coach Bernard Mwalala while Okidi was on international duty with the Junior Stars for the CECAFA AFCON Qualifiers.

The team delivered a 1–1 draw with Murang’a SEAL at SportPesa Arena and stunned reigning champions Kenya Police 1–0 in their last match of the month at the Police Sacco Grounds.

This form helped the team recover from a slump, and they now occupy fifth place with 18 points after 11 rounds.

In October, Gor Mahia head coach Charles Akonnor was named Manager of the Month, receiving the customized SportPesa League Coach of the Month trophy and KSh 75,000.

He emerged top among four contenders: Charles Okere of Tusker, Patrick Odhiambo of Kakamega Homeboyz, and Fred Ambani of AFC Leopards.
