Ulinzi Stars have confirmed the appointment of Stephen Ocholla as their interim coach, a day after relieving Danstan Nyaudo of his duties.

In a statement on their social media platforms, the club announced the return of the coach who secured them the 2010 league title with them in 2010.

” Ulinzi Stars FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Coach Stephen Ocholla as the Interim Head Coach of the club. We warmly welcome coach Ocholla back to the Ulinzi family and wish him every success as he leads the team into a new chapter. “

Ocholla will take charge of his first match on Wednesday afternoon when the soldiers host Bidco United at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

The move comes after the sacking of Danstan Nyaudo who had a challenging start to the 2025/26 SportPesa League season with the military outfit, managing to collect only five points from its first five matches.

Their opening fixtures yielded a record of one win, two draws and two losses.

The decision to sack Nyaudo communicated through a club statement posted on its official social media platforms on Monday afternoon confirmed his departure from the Lang’ata based club

“Ulinzi Stars Football Club wishes to announce that Head Coach Danstun Nyaudo has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.

The management appreciates Coach Nyaudo’s dedication, professionalism, and service to the team both on and off the pitch during his time in charge,” read the statement.

The management has further wished him well in his future endeavours.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to Coach Nyaudo for his contribution to the Ulinzi Stars family and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

Nyaudo took charge of Ulinzi Stars at the start of the 2024/25 season. During that full campaign, he led the team in 34 matches, recording a mixed bag of results with 8 wins, 14 draws, and 12 losses.
