Kenya’s beloved rugby night tournament, the Floodies 2025, is set to ignite on Saturday, October 25, at the RFUEA Grounds on Ngong Road, with the stage set for the main Cup quarterfinals.
The competition was originally scheduled for October 18 but was postponed to honour the passing of Kenya’s former Prime Minister, the Honourable Raila Odinga, who had died just two days prior.
Now, with the period of mourning concluded, the action is ready to proceed. The groups have been unveiled across three categories: The Men’s Main Cup, a Universities category, and a Ladies category for this 15s tournament, which serves as a key precursor to the upcoming Kenya Cup season.

Menengai Oilers, the defending champions, will be aiming to retain their title and secure a second consecutive victory when they face a formidable KCB side.
KCB will be looking to reclaim the crown after a stunning upset last season, when KU Blak Blad eliminated them in the quarterfinals with a 9-8 win, ending their five-year dominance.
Having won the title ten times, the Bankers enter this tournament with new energy.
After dominating the SportPesa National Sevens circuit to reclaim the overall title and making strategic new signings like George Ooro, they are determined to reassert their authority in the 15s format.
Meanwhile, the 2024 runners-up, Impala RFC, will take on Mwamba RFC in the second quarterfinal.
As the host team for this 42nd edition of the Floodies, they are aiming to advance deeper into the competition.
Kenya Harlequins will clash with Kenyatta University Blak Blad, while Nondescript will be seeking to improve on their third-place finish last season when they face Strathmore Leos.
The university category will see a new champion crowned, as the defending titleholders, Rift Varsities – a composite team from Rift Valley universities, are not participating.

The ladies’ competition will feature four teams and will be played in a straight semi-final format.
Mwamba, the defending champions, will play against Northern Suburbs, while Impala Roans will host Quins Queens.
