The 42nd edition of the Impala Floodlit Tournament (Floodies) has been postponed.

The decision to defer the start of Kenya’s traditional rugby 15s curtain-raiser was made by the Impala Rugby Club and the Organizing Committee in solemn respect for the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, allowing the nation to observe a period of mourning for the departed statesman.

In a statement signed by the Impala Chairman Peter Nduati and 2025 Impala Floodlit Organizing Committee Chairman Daniel Ndaba, they confirmed the postponement after President William Ruto announced seven days of mourning.
