- Kenya will host the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens on November 15-16.

- This will be the second time Kenya hosts the tournament, the first being in 2014, which was the nation’s inaugural edition.
Nairobi will host the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens tournament on November 15th and 16th at the RFUEA grounds along Ngong Road.
The pools for the 15th edition of the continental championship have been officially confirmed setting the stage for two days of intense competition at the heart of Kenya’s capital.
This is the second time that the country is hosting the tournament after the 2014 edition which was the first in the nation’s history.

Defending champions and record 12-time titleholders, South Africa, will headline Pool A, where they will face challenges from Zimbabwe and Mauritius.
The home team, Kenya Lionesses, the 2024 runners-up, are placed in Pool B alongside Ghana and Ivory Coast.
Pool C will feature Uganda, Zambia, and Burkina Faso while Madagascar, Tunisia and Egypt have been slotted in pool D.

Hosts Kenya will be seeking to secure their second ever title in the competition when they play on home soil.
In the 2024 final in Ghana, they narrowly lost to South Africa with a score of 17-10 in the final.
South Africa has dominated the tournament since its inception in 2006, claiming a total of 12 titles.
Only two other nations have lifted the trophy; Tunisia, who won in 2012, and the hosts Kenya, who secured their sole title in Gaborone, Botswana, in 2018.
The Rugby Africa Women’s sevens follows the successful Safari sevens tournament held in October in Nairobi at the Nyayo National Stadium where Kenya Shujaa and Kenya Lioness’s secured victories in the men’s and women categories respectively.
Elsewhere the Floodlit tournament postponed in honour of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is now expected to continue next weekend, Saturday 18th October with the quarterfinals.
In the men’s quarterfinals, defending champions Menengai Oilers will face ten-time winners KCB RFC, Impala RFC play against Mwamba, Kenya Harlequin face it out against Blak Blad and Nondies will challenge Strathmore Leos.
