AFC Leopards’ search for their first Sportpesa League 2025/26 victory continues on Saturday evening when they host KCB at the Ulinzi Sports Complex from 4.00 PM EAT.

Ingwe have endured a turbulent beginning to the season. Despite remaining unbeaten in their first three matches, they have been held to consecutive stalemates, a string of results that has heaped pressure on the entire squad.

They began the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Sofapaka, followed by a 2-2 deadlock with Posta Rangers.

Just before the FIFA international break, the twelve-time top-flight champions were frustrated in a goalless draw by Bandari FC at the Moi International Sports Center.

This performance has left the team languishing in 15th place with just three points.

Therefore, coach Fred Ambanio and his technical staff, who are now facing a proper pressure from the club’s fans, must throw everything into this fourth match to secure their inaugural win of the season.

However, they face a formidable challenge, as the Bankers are not a team that gives away points easily. KCB have managed to secure six points from a possible twelve so far this season.

Sitting sixth on the log, Robert Matano’s charges enter this fixture aiming to bounce back after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat to record champions Gor Mahia before the international break.

AFC Leopards vs KCB: Coaches’ talk before the clash

KCB will be aiming to return to winning ways, and their gaffer stated that despite injury concerns, the team is ready to face Ingwe and deliver a strong performance.

“Of course we have injuries, but every match for us is intact and every match is a final. We have prepared well, and I think tomorrow’s match will be entertaining. We are ready to win.”

“A two-week break can impact player fitness, but we have managed to optimize that period and we are fully prepared.”

Meanwhile, Ambani has publicly asked for the fans’ forgiveness. Speaking to Azam Sports Kenya, he urged for continued patience and voiced his hope for a positive outcome in their next outing.

“Our fans have been patient with us, and I still urge them to continue with their support because we have no other option. They are our fans; we have no others. We ask for their understanding and we will keep assuring them that things will turn around in due time.

“We are not happy with today’s draw, this is the third one. These are not good results for the team, especially considering how hard we’ve fought to secure points; it hasn’t been easy.”

AFC Leopards vs KCB Betting Tips

At the beginning of last season under Thomas Trucha, Ingwe had only lost one of their four opening matches, winning the other three.

Therefore, they will be seeking to rediscover that winning form, making them the slight favorite to win this match and ease the pressure from their supporters.

KCB have only managed one victory against Ingwe in their last six encounters, while Leopards have won two, with three matches ending in draws.

Sportpesa League Round Five

Following a standalone fixture on Friday that saw Mara Sugar and Bidco United battle to a goalless draw, the Saturday action continues with three more fixtures.

Two other matches will see Kakamega Homeboyz host Ulinzi Stars at Bukhungu Stadium from 2.00 PM.

Homeboyz, sitting third on the log with seven points, will be aiming for back-to-back wins after a 3-1 victory over Nairobi United.

The Soldiers, meanwhile, will be seeking to return to winning ways and secure their second victory of the season to add to the five points they have gathered from a possible twelve.

Elsewhere, Kariobangi Sharks will host newcomers APS Bomet at the Kasarani Annex from 3.00 PM, with Bomet seeking their first win of the season and Sharks their second.
