Murang’a Seal face a crucial trip to Kisii on Sunday seeking to get as much points as possible when they take on Shabana in a week 25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League fixture.
In the match that will be staged at the Gusii Stadium from 2 PM, John Njogu’s side enter the contest entangled in the relegation playoff battle.
Languishing in 16th place with 24 points, SEAL’s form has been dismal with their last victory dating back to December 2024 when they secured a narrow 1-0 win over FC Talanta that was followed by a string of two draws and seven defeats.
Before the international break, they suffered a heavy 3-1 loss to Kenya Police.
As they meet Shabana, SEAL will be determined to break their winless streak and accumulate vital points to avoid further relegation danger aimimg to survive for the thrd time.

Meanwhile, Shabana, fresh from holding AFC Leopards to a 1-1 draw before the international break, aim to reignite their winning momentum and solidify their status as a formidable side this season.
Currently, they occupy seventh place on the standings with 34 points, and they are targeting their eighth win of the season, as well as their seventh home victory in 11 matches.
Three points could propel Peter Okidi’s side to 5th place on the table, assuming AFC Leopards drop points in their match against Gor Mahia at Nyayo Stadium.

Shabana head coach on the remaining matches
Shabana’s head coach, Peter Okidi, expressed his disappointment, noting that his team has dropped points in matches they should have won, which has prevented them from being higher on the table.
He emphasized that they will be targeting maximum points in the remaining fixtures.
Going forward, we need to secure maximum points because we have dropped points where we shouldn’t have. If things had gone our way, we could be talking about being in second place right now. We’ve been held to four draws that, in my opinion, we should have won.
Those are points we feel we gave away, and it’s disturbing. Against Murang’a SEAL, we will be going for the maximum points-Okidi said after the 1-1 draw against AFC Leopards.
With both sides being sponsored by leading Kenyan gaming firm SportPesa, this encounter promises fireworks.
SEAL will be aiming for three points to distance themselves from the relegation zone, while Shabana will seek the same to regain momentum and assert dominance over SEAL, having already beaten them 1-0 in their first leg encounter.
