APS Bomet head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has been named the SportPesa League Coach of the Month for April 2026.
Pamzo delivered a flawless month, winning all three fixtures (100% record), netting five goals, and keeping clean sheets in each outing.
Beyond the stats, his biggest impact came in high-pressure moments: edging relegation rivals Ulinzi Stars 1-0, then facing his former side Posta Rangers, whom he dismantled 3-0, before sealing a 1-0 victory against already-relegated Sofapaka.
That defensive resilience and tactical sharpness were key to lifting APS Bomet out of the drop zone, making his influence both immediate and season-defining.

He becomes only the fourth gaffer to claim the award, which was introduced back in October 2025.
Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and Sabana FC coaches have dominated the crown; Charles Akonnor of Gor won it twice (October and January 2026), Peter Okidi(Shabana) grabbed it in November and February, while Fred Ambani managed to snatch it in December and March 2026.
The former Harambee Stars player will receive a customized SportPesa League Coach of the Month trophy and a cash reward of KSh 75,000 from leading gaming firm SportPesa.
He beat out fellow contenders Mara Sugar coach Xavier Francis, Nairobi United head coach Godfrey Odour, and Kenya Police FC boss Nicholas Muyoti- all of whom also had decent runs in April.
Pamzo joined the Law Enforcers in December 2025, but his official first match came against Mara Sugar in January, where he managed to pick up one point on his debut.
He has since overseen 17 matches after taking over from Posta Rangers, with performances varying: six wins, six draws, and five losses in that stretch.
Aiming to keep APS Bomet out of the relegation zone, Pamzo has guided them to eight straight matches; three draws followed by five consecutive victories – a run that has seen the team climb to 12th place on the log with 37 points, five clear of the drop zone (16th spot, occupied by Ulinzi Stars).

Bomet could become another side Pamzo saves from the relegation scrap, as he has already built a reputation for rescuing teams like Shabana FC while also keeping Posta Rangers up last season.
With three games left, they will be looking to maintain their hot streak and hope to secure another season in the SportPesa League, having just earned promotion this term.
They face tough tests against Bandari FC, AFC Leopards, before wrapping up the campaign against Tusker FC.
