Ferdinand Omanyala is one of the top stars set to light up the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games this Saturday, May 17.
Omanyala, who has had mixed fortunes since the start of the season, will feature in the unfamiliar 150m race.
Some of the competitors that Omanyala will battle it out in the meet that is scheduled to be held at the Piedmont Park include the current 100m Olympic Games champion Noah Lyles and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes.
Bahrain’s Terrence Jones and Alexander Ogando, who hails from the Dominican Republic will also be in the mix.

What time will Ferdinand Omanyala be in action at the 2025 Adidas Atlanta City Games?
The 2025 Atlanta City Games will kick off at 1:30 pm Eastern Time (ET) and is expected to end at 4 pm (ET) on Saturday, May 17, 2025. However, Omanyala will be in action between 10 pm and 11 pm East African Time (EAT).

Meanwhile, South Africa’s speedster Akani Simbine will race in the 100m race against the likes of Jamaica’s Oblique Seville.

Simbine’s compatriot Wayde van Niekerk, who won a 400m gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, is the main attraction in the 200m entries that also has the likes of Hughes, Elija Godwin (USA), Antonio Watson (Jamaica), Sean Bailey (Jamaica), and Demish Gaye (Jamaica).
Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan and home girl Anna Hall are some of the big names in the 110m women’s hurdles. Others include Kendra Harrison (USA), Tia Jones (USA), Grace Stark (USA) and Sarah Lavin (Ireland).
Omanyala, who recently helped the Kenyan 4x100m relay team book a ticket to the 2025 World Athletics Championships, will be aiming to return to winning ways.
