- The defeat was Tottenham’s 18th of the 2024-25 Premier League season.
- Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou stated after the match that they could have done better defensively.
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou was not pleased with the manner in which his charges conceded goals in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest in a Premier League game played on Monday night.
Tottenham fell 1-0 behind with just five minutes gone into the match that was played at their stadium when Elliot Anderson’s shot was deflected by Rodrigo Bentancur into the net.

The situation went from bad to worse for Tottenham in the 16th minute when a pin point cross from former Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga was directed into the net by Chris Wood.
Richarlison scores for Postecoglou’s men
Despite a hard fight from Spurs, they only managed to pull one goal back in the dying stages of the match via their Brazilian attacker Richarlison.

The painful defeat, which was Tottenham’s 18th of the 2024-25 Premier League season, ensured they dropped to position 16 in the standings.
Tottenham, who have collected 37 points so far and secured four defeats in the five recent league games, may drop further in the table should they continue with their poor run.
At the moment, only a single point separates them from their London rivals West Ham United.
Tottenham boss Postecoglou speaks as pressure mounts on him
Speaking after the outcome, Postecoglou stated that they are to be blamed for their misfortunes.
“It is another game we should never lose and disappointed in the manner we conceded the goals. Another match lost that we shouldn’t have dropped points in.
It’s a chronic issue throughout our season, making things hard for ourselves in critical moments,” he explained.
On his part, Dejan Kulusevski, who was returning from injury, described the defeat as one of the worst ones.
“Of course I am very angry, the worst feeling, but you have to think about the process. You can’t give up. It was good to be back.
I felt great and just be ready for the next game against Liverpool and the Europa League,” he commented.

Up next for Tottenham is another tough Premier League clash against Liverpool that is planned to be played on Sunday, April 27 at the Anfield Stadium.
