Mercurial forward Mohamed Salah has signed a new two year contract with English Premier League side Liverpool FC.
Most Liverpool supporters were worried that they were going to lose Salah at the end of the season for free due to the slow progress of the talks between the Egyptian star and the club.
However, they have a reason to smile since it has been confirmed earlier today that Salah will not be parting ways with the club anytime soon.
According to a communique issued by Liverpool, the three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner has committed his future to the club.
“Liverpool FC can announce Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract that will keep him with the club beyond 2024-25 season.
The forward, who is enjoying another stellar campaign for the Reds, has committed his future by putting pen to paper on the deal,” the statement read in part.

Meanwhile Salah stated that he is delighted to continue his journey with Liverpool and promised to do his part to help the club achieve more success.
“I am very, very happy to be here. I sign here because I believe we can win a lot of great, big trophies together. So, keep supporting us and we will give it our best and hopefully in the future, we are going to win trophies,” he explained.
Salah further revealed that his family were over the moon when they learned that they will be staying in England for more years.
“They feel at home. They were very happy, Magi and the kids, they were very happy that we are staying another two years. It feels like home so everyone was happy.
I think Makka was the happiest one in the family, she wanted us to stay. Of course we all wanted to stay but Makka because her friends are here and the school. It was a very good vibe after the moment that I signed,” divulged Salah.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot showers Salah with praises after contract extension
On the other hand, Liverpool FC head coach Arne Slot described the Pharaohs attacker as an influential member of his squad.
“He has shown at this club for so many years in a row now how much value he has for the team and for the club.
So, as like I assume all our fans and his teammates, we are very happy that he extended for two more years and hopefully he can show on Sunday again how important he has been for the whole season to us,” Slot was quoted by the club’s website.
Liverpool will host West Ham United at the Anfield Stadium on Sunday, April 13 at exactly 4 pm EAT/ 2 pm BST, with a win driving them a step closer to the Premier League triumph.
Mohamed Salah’s amazing career with Liverpool
Salah has had an impressive club with Liverpool since joining them in 2017. The pacey forward, who predominantly operates as a winger, has scored 243 goals in 394 appearances for the Reds.
In addition, Salah has managed to lift seven trophies with the Merseyside club including a Champions League and Premier League trophy.
The 32-year-old, who has scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, is a few games away from helping the club win another Premier League trophy this season.
Liverpool currently sits at the helm of the standings with 73 points, 11 more than their closest rivals Arsenal.
