The wheat has been separated from the chaff at the Christie 7s, with Kabras, KCB,Oilers and Strathmore Leos all booking their places in the Main Cup semi-finals of the final leg of the 2026 SportPesa National 7s Circuit at the RFUEA Grounds.
Kabras Sugar had to dig deep before eventually turning the tables on invitational side Club Afrique, coming from behind to secure a 24-12 victory and keep their hopes of ending the circuit on a high alive.
Club Afrique made the brighter start and quickly put Kabras under pressure. Leachim Adams opened the scoring for the invitational side, finishing off an early attack with the conversion successful to give his team a 7-0 advantage.

The pressure continued to mount on the Sugarmen as Club Afrique found gaps in the Kabras defensive line. Hlumelo Zitha powered his way through the defence to score a second try, although the conversion was unsuccessful as Club Afrique stretched their lead to 12-0.
Kabras were eventually able to settle into their rhythm. Good interplay and quick hands helped them breach a well-organised Club Afrique defence, with Rayvon Ambale finishing the move to get Kabras on the scoreboard. He then converted his own try to reduce the deficit to 12-7.
The contest remained open, with both sides trading attacks as Kabras searched for a way back into the contest. Club Afrique, however, held on to their narrow advantage as the two sides headed into the interval with the invitational outfit leading 12-7.

Kabras returned from the break with greater intensity and immediately began to apply pressure. Mathias Osimbo initiated a promising attack with a kick, and although his effort was blocked, the loose ball fell kindly for Jackson Siketa.
Siketa kept the move alive with a well-timed offload to Derrick Ashiundu, who finished the attack to bring Kabras back in front. Ambale added the conversion as the Sugarmen completed the turnaround to lead 14-12.
With momentum now firmly on their side, Kabras continued to stretch Club Afrique. Ambale found the try-line again to extend the lead to 19-12, putting the Sugarmen firmly in command.
Mathias Osimbo then put the result beyond doubt with a fine individual run down the left flank. He found space on the edge before grounding the ball to give Kabras another score. Jone Kubu was unable to add the extras, but Kabras had done enough to secure their place in the last four.
Elsewhere in the Main Cup quarter-finals, Menengai Oilers produced a late surge to eliminate Mwamba 28-21 and set up an intriguing semi-final clash against Kabras.
KCB, meanwhile, showed their class with a commanding 31-5 victory over NYS Spades to remain firmly in contention for another Christie 7s title.
Strathmore Leos completed the semi-final line-up after surviving a closely fought encounter against Daystar Falcons, edging their university rivals 15-14.
The semi-final draw now sets up two mouth-watering encounters.
Kabras will face Menengai Oilers in the Rai Derby, while KCB will take on defending Embu 7s champions Strathmore Leos in a repeat of the Kabeberi 7s final.
The KCB-Strathmore meeting also carries an added layer of intrigue, with the two sides returning to the same RFUEA Grounds where they produced a thrilling Kabeberi 7s final earlier in the circuit.
With the Christie 7s serving as the final leg of the SportPesa National 7s Circuit, every possession, breakdown battle and missed opportunity now carries extra weight. For Kabras and KCB, there is also the bigger prize of the overall circuit title at stake, making the remaining fixtures a potential season-defining chapter.
The stage is therefore set at RFUEA Grounds, with four teams left standing and only two places available in the Christie 7s Main Cup final.
