- Gor Mahia will walk away with KSh15 million courtesy of the partnership between leading gaming firm SportPesa and the Football Kenya Federation.
Gor Mahia are the SportPesa League champions for the 2025/26 season, marking the first side to claim the title after the leading gaming firm SportPesa made its comeback as the main sponsor of Kenya’s top-flight league.
The title was confirmed on the penultimate weekend as K’Ogalo reclaimed a record 22nd league crown without even kicking a ball after arch-rivals AFC Leopards suffered a 2-1 defeat to APS Bomet on Sunday, May 24, in Kericho.
The result at Kericho Green stadium meant Gor Mahia maintained a four-point lead at the summit with two matches still in hand against Mara Sugar and Nairobi United.
On the other hand, Ingwe’s remaining fixture will not be enough to overturn the gap, even if Gor Mahia lose both of their remaining matches and AFC Leopards beat already relegated Bidco United.

Now, K’Ogalo’s clash against Mara Sugar which was also supposed to happen over the weekend only to be halted by the Sports Dispute Tribunal, will be given a guard of honor by the same Sugar Millers when they meet, after the case is mentioned this week, before their coronation against Nairobi United in the final week of the league fixtures.
Millions Gor Mahia will pocket after winning the SportPesa League title
In all, to secure the record 22nd title, Charles Akonnor’s men will be grinning all the way to the bank, with millions awaiting them after their triumph.
Gor will walk away with 15 million Kenya Shillings, courtesy of leading gaming firm SportPesa, alongside the Football Kenya Federation partnership.
SportPesa entered into a 10-year agreement with FKF at the beginning of the season in a transformative sponsorship package worth KSh1.12 billion.
The deal granted SportPesa exclusive naming rights, with the company committing KSh10 million in prize money for the top three teams, while FKF added another KSh10 million to make it a total of KSh20 million in prize funds.
During the unveiling in September 2025, FKF president Hussein Mohammed announced that the league winners would receive KSh15 million – a significant increase from the KSh5 million earned by previous champions Kenya Police.
The runners-up were allocated KSh3 million, while the third-placed side would walk away with KSh2 million.

The first and second spots have already been secured: Gor walk away with 15 million, while AFC Leopards will settle for three million.
The third place remains wide open, with former champions Kenya Police FC sitting third on 53 points with two games to go, just one point above fourth-place Shabana, who have only one match left on 52 points. So the two will be fighting for the remaining cash.
For Gor Mahia, the rewards will not end with the league payout alone. Club chairman Ambrose Rachier had earlier promised the squad a KSh5 million bonus should they clinch the title.
The players had also enjoyed increased winning bonuses throughout the campaign, meaning they will indeed be smiling on their way to the bank.
Attention will now shift to the upcoming 2025/26 SportPesa League end-of-season gala, which will celebrate standout players and memorable moments from the first full campaign under SportPesa’s sponsorship.
