- Menengai Oilers, the defending champions, will now be aiming for their second-ever Floodlit title.
Menengai Oilers kept their ambition to defend the Impala Floodlit title alive after booking a ticket to their second consecutive final in the 2025 edition.
The Oilers clinched their spot by edging out KU Blak Blad 42-21 on Saturday, November 1, in a main cup semifinal held at the Impala Club along Ngong Road.
This showdown materialized after the Oilers eliminated KCB Rugby in the quarterfinals, while Blak Blad defeated Kenya Harlequins, setting up a replay of the 2024 semifinal where the Oilers again proved their strength.

Timothy Okwemba opened the scoring for the reigning champions with an unconverted try, earning five points. Enock Odour then narrowed the deficit with a successful penalty, bringing the score to 5-3 for Oilers.
Samwel Were extended their lead to 10-3 before Odour slotted another penalty. The Oilers then pulled further ahead to 17-6 after Victor Arego crossed the line for a try, which was successfully converted.
Dominating the proceedings, the Oilers surged to a 24-6 lead before halftime, adding another try through Elkens Musonye. Blak Blad managed to add three more points from a penalty just before the break, leaving the halftime score at 24-9.
After the interval, Blak Blad mounted a comeback with two tries of their own, one of which was converted.
However, their efforts were insufficient to overcome the Oilers, who responded with three tries and a penalty conversion of their own, sealing a 42-21 victory.
With this win, the Oilers will now face Nondescript Rugby in the championship final.
Nondies secured their place by dispatching the hosts and last season’s defending champions, Impala RFC, with a tense 25-19 victory in the other Cup semifinal later that evening.
Much like the first semifinal, this match was also a repeat of the previous year’s final four, where the host team had narrowly beaten Nondies 9-6.
