Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will be aiming to extend their fine run of form when they host Ulinzi Stars this afternoon at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani in a SportPesa League encounter kicking off at 4 PM.
Kogalo have been in superb form since their opening-day setback against Bidco United, where they lost 1-0 through a late penalty.
Since then, Charles Akonnor’s side has gone on an impressive four-match winning streak, scoring eight goals and conceding none in the process, results that see them sitting in second on the league table with 12 points, just behind leaders Kakamega Homeboyz with a point.

Gor Mahia vs Ulinzi Stars preview
Their opponents, Ulinzi Stars, have struggled to find consistency this season. The Soldiers have managed only one win in six matches, drawing twice and losing three times. They have scored four goals while conceding seven, leaving them 15th on the table with five points.
Ulinzi Stars’ newly appointed head coach Stephen Ochola will be keen to inspire a turnaround in fortunes.
Having taken charge of the team recently, Ochola oversaw his first game in a 2-1 defeat to Bidco United in midweek at Ulinzi Sports Complex and will be looking to guide his side to a positive result at Kasarani.
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia defender Michael Kibwage, who joined the club during the off-season, has emphasized the importance of maintaining their defensive solidity and momentum.
“It’s a tough game. Ulinzi has always been a difficult opponent for us. They’ve also won the league before, so they’ll come with pride and determination.
We’ve had a good run, and we want to continue maintaining the momentum. The match is important for us, we want to win and keep another clean sheet as we go into the break,” Kibwage said.
