Slavia Praha 1–2 Arsenal

Slavia Praha 1–2 Arsenal was the final score in Prague on 4 November 2026, as Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres put the Gunners two goals ahead before Wiktor Nowak’s late reply. Arsenal secured their third win in four Champions League league-phase matches, although they had to withstand sustained pressure after half-time.

The Slavia Praha vs Arsenal result was shaped by two very different halves. Arsenal were clinical before the interval, with Gyökeres involved in both goals, but David Raya and Gabriel Magalhães were called on to protect the lead as the hosts pushed for a comeback.

Slavia Praha vs Arsenal goals and decisive moments

Arsenal’s two first-half goals came in the ninth and 38th minutes. Gyökeres helped create the opener, controlling a long pass from Raya before releasing Madueke into the right side of the penalty area. The winger finished past goalkeeper Nazar Domchak to give the visitors an early advantage.

Gyökeres then doubled Arsenal’s lead before half-time. After Arsenal recovered possession high up the pitch, Mikel Merino played the striker through and he finished to make it 2–0. Slavia had managed only one attempt in the opening period, leaving Arsenal in control at the break.

The second half told a different story. Slavia created a succession of chances, with Raya making important stops and Gabriel clearing a header off the goal line. Raya also turned an Oskar Kubiak header onto the post to preserve the two-goal cushion.

The pressure finally produced a goal in the 90th minute. David Jurásek delivered the ball into the area for Wiktor Nowak to score from close range. Slavia continued to threaten during stoppage time, but Arsenal protected the 2–1 scoreline.

Why Arsenal’s first-half advantage nearly disappeared

Slavia’s second-half response was substantial rather than merely a late surge. After a single shot before half-time, the home side registered 17 more attempts after the restart. The shift forced Arsenal to defend deeper and rely on Raya’s saves and Gabriel’s positioning around the six-yard box.

Arsenal’s opening-half pressing had disrupted Slavia and helped produce Gyökeres’ goal. After the interval, however, the hosts advanced the ball into threatening areas more regularly. That change explains why a match that looked comfortable at 2–0 became an anxious finish for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Viktor Gyökeres and Noni Madueke lead Arsenal’s attack

Gyökeres was central to both Arsenal goals, creating Madueke’s opener before scoring himself. His contribution gave Arsenal an advantage that proved decisive despite their reduced attacking output after the break.

Madueke’s early movement behind the Slavia defence provided an immediate route to goal. Merino’s pass for the second goal was another important contribution, while Raya and Gabriel were crucial to keeping Arsenal ahead late in the contest.
