East African runners Geoffrey Kamworor and Mizan Alem secured the Antrim Coast Half Marathon 2025 men’s and women’s titles on August 24. Kamworor won the men’s title in a time of 59:51. As for Alem, she crossed the finishing line at 1:05.38 to bag the top prize in the female category.

How Kamworor clinched the Antrim Coast Half Marathon title
Kamworor, a multiple world half marathon champion, produced a monstrous performance in the streets of Antrim.
He took command of the race with a few kilometers remaining to the finishing line and went on to cut the tape ahead of Israel’s Tadesse Getahon and Phil Sesemann.
Getahon clocked 61:21 while Sesemann, who comes from Great Britain, completed the race in a personal time of 61 minutes and 22 seconds.

Sondre Moen and Hendrik Pfeiffer, settled for the fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Ethiopia’s Mizan Alem dazzles in Antrim
As for Alem, she overcame a quite strong field that had the likes of the Kenyan pair of Loice Chemnung and Lilian Kasait to clinch the Antrim Coast Half Marathon 2025 title.
The 2021 World Athletics Championships under-20 5000m winner crossed the finishing line at 1:05:38.

Alem was followed by Chemnung, who clocked 1:06:06 to finish ahead of Senayet Getachew (1:06:33). Similar to Alem, Getachew is also an Ethiopian citizen.
