Mvurya urges Kenyans to rally behind Harambee Stars in CHAN 2024 opener

Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Salim Mvurya, has urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and purchase tickets online especially for the highly anticipated opening match where the Harambee Stars will face DR Congo.

Tickets are readily available online, the platform is open, and Kenyans can get their tickets,” Mvurya told Maskani on Citizen TV.

For our first match on 3rd August, I call upon all Kenyans to come in large numbers because it is our opener and it will be on a Sunday. It’s a very good time, so we need everyone to come out in large numbers. Grab your tickets early so we can cheer on our Harambee Stars team.”

If Harambee Stars are playing, then Kenya is playing. So Kenyans should not choose any other matches, only those involving the Stars. In the group stages, we have four matches and we want to win all of them.”

With preparations nearing completion, the tournament group A matches will kick off on August 3, when host nation Kenya, making their CHAN debut, takes on two-time champions DR Congo at the refurbished Kasarani Stadium.

The match will begin at 3:00 PM EAT.
