Mathare United head coach John Kamua was left frustrated after his side was held to a goalless draw by Bandari FC in their penultimate FKF Premier League fixture on Sunday at Kasarani Annex 2.
The result was a blow to Mathare, who were seeking three points to boost their tally and end the season on a high note.
Currently sitting 10th on the table with 41 points, the team has already secured its place in the top flight for next season, their second since gaining promotion.

Speaking after the match, Kamua expressed disappointment, insisting that it was a game they should have won, particularly given their dominance in the second half.
He also pointed out that Bandari’s tactical use of counterattacks and long balls ultimately nullified their efforts.
I don’t think it is a fair result. I think we deserved more than that, but again, I cannot say that in the attacking third we created a lot of scoring chances like in other matches.
All in all, it was really a tough match against a very experienced side, but I’m really happy with the team’s performance so far, especially in the second half.
I think we really camped in their half, but again, they used the counterattack to try to catch us by surprise with long balls,” Kamua explained.

Despite their struggles in front of goal, Kamua refused to single out any player for criticism. He particularly defended forward Musa Masika, who appeared to be off-form during the match.
I don’t think so. Because when he has a bad game (Musa Masika), it affects him personally. I know he is a punctual player and he wants to score more goals, but all in all, the most important thing is for him to know exactly what to do. And this gives us a picture of what we want,” he added.
