- Gor Mahia and Sinisa Mihic parted ways by mutual agreement on May 19, 2025.
- Mihic was appointed as Gor Mahia’s head coach on Monday, February 3, 2025, succeeding Brazilian tactician Leonardo Neiva.
- Mihic managed 13 league games (6 wins, 5 draws, 2 losses) and won all three FKF Cup matches, leading Gor Mahia to the semi-finals.
Kenya’s record champions Gor Mahia have announced the departure of Croatian head coach Sinisa Mihic after a brief tenure of just three months – a mere 14 weeks – since his appointment.
In an announcement made on the evening of Monday, May 19, the club confirmed that the decision was reached by mutual agreement.
They extended their best wishes to Mihic and revealed that Zedekiah Otieno and Michael Nam will take over in an interim capacity.
ANNOUNCEMENT: We have parted ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic on mutual agreement; the two assistants to take charge on interim basis. We wish Mihic all the best in his endeavours,” Gor Mahia posted on their official social media platforms.
Gor Mahia have not disclosed the exact reason behind the sudden departure of gaffer.
However, he exits at a critical juncture, with the team clinging to a faint hope of securing the FKF Premier League title.
This comes after a goalless draw against Murang’a SEAL on Sunday at the SportPesa Arena – a result that allowed Kenya Police FC to widen their lead to seven points, intensifying pressure on the defending champions who are chasing a third consecutive title.
Mihic was appointed in early February 2025, succeeding Brazilian coach Leonardo Neiva, who was dismissed in November 2024 following a string of disappointing performances.
Interestingly, Neiva’s dismissal also followed a match against Murang’a SEAL in Machakos, during which he faced hostility from angry fans.
Mihic’s tenure began on a high note, overseeing a 1-2 away win against Mathare United at the Dandora Stadium.
During his brief 13-match spell in the league, Mihic managed six victories, five draws, and suffered only two losses.

One of the setbacks came against Nairobi City Stars, where Gor Mahia lost 1-2 – dropping vital points.
The recent stalemate with Murang’a SEAL further dented their title hopes.
Despite the inconsistencies in league form, Mihic guided Gor Mahia to the semi-finals of the FKF Cup, where they are set to face Murang’a SEAL once again this weekend.
Off the pitch, his stint was not without drama.
In April, Mihic was reportedly involved in a dressing room dispute with his assistant coaches, though the tensions were eventually resolved.
Additionally, he served a two-match suspension after being shown a red card during a match against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium – a game that Gor Mahia won 1-0.

With the title race still mathematically open – depending on Kenya Police’s results, interim coaches Zedekiah Otieno and Michael Nam face the daunting task of reviving the team’s momentum in their remaining three league fixtures against Ulinzi Stars, AFC Leopards, and Kenya Police.
They also have a shot at silverware in the FKF Cup, hoping to reach the final by overcoming SEAL in the upcoming semi-final clash on Sunday.
