Gor Mahia FC announced the appointment of Sinisa Mihic as their new head coach on Monday morning.
Mihic arrives at the club at a time when they are blowing hot and cold in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).
The team, which won the coveted title last season in an impressive fashion, sits third at the moment in the FKFPL standings with 31 points, six behind Kenya Police FC and Tusker FC.
However, despite their struggles, the Gor Mahia camp still has what it takes to retain the title since they have a game in hand and the league only entering the second leg phase.

The appointment of Mihic clearly shows K’Ogalo’s intentions of continuing with their dominance in the domestic league.

Who is Sinisa Mihic?
Sinisa was born on October 26, 1976 in Rijeka, a port city that is located in the Northern Adriatic Sea in Croatia. The 48-year-old has dual citizenship (Croatia and Italy).
Sinisa Mihic’s coaching career?
According to the new Gor Mahia gaffer, he has over 20 years coaching experience. Mihic, who is an UEFA Pro License holder, has an average term as a coach of 1.29 years.
“My name is Sinisa Mihic, nickname Micah. Mostly they know me as Micah. I come from Croatia. Worked as a coach for 25 years already.
No doubt this is something beautiful. I am so proud, grateful for that and I know there are not so many clubs in Africa have that the reputation at Gor. I am so happy to join the Green Army,” he stated during his first interview.
Some of the sides that Mihic has managed in his career so far include NK Crikvenica (Croatia), Al-Fahaheel SC (Kuwait) and Al-Shabab (Kuwait).
In addition, he has served as the assistant coach of Al-Nasr SC (Libya) and Al-Merrikh SC (Sudan).
Mihic’s most recent coaching assignment was with the multiple Kuwait Premier League champions Al-Salmiya SC where he acted in an assistant capacity for less than a month.

Message to Gor Mahia stakeholders
Mihic has promised to do everything possible to help the record Kenyan champions win trophies.
According to him, Gor Mahia is one of the top clubs in the region and he is very happy to have been given an opportunity to serve it.
“I want to give the best for myself, for the club and the fans because we play for the fans and the supporters. So, our target and target of Gor Mahia is always do what you can the best. All of us expect to become the champions again.
I know many teams are good. Of course, like you know. On the internet, I read many good things about the status and history of the club, so Gor Mahia is a giant.
Gor is one of the best clubs in East Africa and I am so proud for the time now here with you,” explained Mihic.

The coach further disclosed that he enjoys working with a mixture of youngsters and experienced players since the latter know how to win matches.
Finally, Mihic took an opportunity to appreciate the warm welcome that he has received from Kenyans since he landed in the country, describing the citizens as very nice and kind.
