Gor Mahia’s technical bench is beginning to unravel as the team’s head coach Sinisa Mihic has fallen out with his assistants, accusing them of blackmail and sabotage.
The individuals involved in the dispute are team manager Victor Nyaoro, assistant coach Michael Nam, and Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno, the latter of whom was notably absent from Friday’s training session.
Sinisa lamented that he is unwilling to work with the trio as long as they continue to undermine and sabotage his efforts, asserting that he has done nothing but treat them with respect.
There is no way I’m going to work with them becausel can’t be blackmailed. These are people I have tried to work with, lent them money. I have even used my own money to facilitate some of our activities on my own good will. Why are they sabotaging arnd fighting me?” Sinisa stated, as reported by Nation.
Trouble at Gor Mahia
It is reported that Mihic clashed with the technical team over team selection, with the head coach believing that some foreign players were not as capable of starting matches as local players a stance his assistants did not share.
Having served as an assistant manager at Al-Nasr, Al-Merrikh SC, and Al-Salimiyah SC, Sinisa stated that he will not tolerate any negativeb behavior regarding squad selection .
“I can’t, out of influence, play those who are not following instructions. Kenyan players are even better than some of the foreigners they want me to field in games.
Furthermore, I have served as an assistant coach before in various teams but I haven’t behaved or witnessed such behaviour they are showing. It is bad’ he added.

With ten matches remaining for the record champions, Mihic, who took over from interim coach Zico earlier in February, needs to ensure stability and lead K’Ogalo back to the top of the table as they aim for their 21st top-flight title.
Gor Mahia currently sits third in the standings with 43 points, five points behind leaders Kenya Police with 48. They will travel to Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County on Sunday to face KCB.
