- Gor Mahia will host Mara Sugar on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Dandora Stadium at 1600hrs.
- Gor Mahia have experienced underwhelming results in their last two matches, with one loss snapping their eight-match unbeaten streak.
- Earlier at the same venue, struggling Mathare United will host title contenders Tusker FC at 1:00 PM.
After a string of disappointing results in their recent FKF Premier League 24/25 fixtures, Kenya’s record champions Gor Mahia will return to action on Sunday, April 27, seeking redemption as they host Mara Sugar at the Dandora Stadium from 4:00 PM EAT.
Gor Mahia first dropped two vital points on the weekend of April 19, being held to a 1-1 draw by Sofapaka.
The result dented their hopes of climbing to the top of the table, especially after their title rivals stumbled in their respective matches that weekend.
As a result, K’Ogalo remained third with 47 points.

Their second setback came in a crucial midweek clash against FC Talanta, a must-win game and their only match in hand.
Despite the high stakes, they succumbed to a narrow 0-1 defeat, missing the chance to close the gap on league leaders Kenya Police (52 points) and second-placed Tusker (51 points).
Having squandered two golden opportunities to strengthen their title bid, Gor Mahia now face a must-win situation on Sunday.
A victory would not only bring them closer to Police and Tusker but also widen the gap between them and fourth-placed Shabana, who sit just a point behind on 46 after beating Nairobi City Stars in their Matchweek 28 fixture.
Adding to the pressure, their impressive eight-match unbeaten streak was snapped.
Coach Sinisa Mihic, who had maintained an unblemished record, was absent from the touchline during the Talanta defeat due to a two-match suspension.
Now set to return, he will be determined to guide his team back on track and reignite their title defense.

Meanwhile, Benedict Wanjala’s Mara Sugar are not a feeble opponent.
They are desperate to end a seven-match winless streak that has left them precariously positioned in 14th place with 30 points just six above bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars (24).
Their away form has been especially dire, managing only one victory in 13 outings, with four draws and eight losses.
They’ll be hoping to defy the odds against Gor, who have dominated at home with seven wins and four draws in previous meetings.
Gor Mahia vs Mara Sugar form
Having only been promoted this season, Mara Sugar have faced Gor Mahia once in the top flight, with the first-leg encounter ending in a 0-2 defeat thanks to late goals from Austin Odhiambo and Gedeon Bendeka.
Both squads report no major injury concerns. Benson Omalla, who recently returned to Gor Mahia, has yet to find the net in the league despite scoring in the FKF Cup against Bandari. A goal from him today would be a timely boost for the team.
Wanjala may be tempted to stick with the squad that held KCB to a 1-1 draw last weekend, a match that saw Woodvine Okoth return to the starting lineup.
Mathare United vs Tusker
Earlier at the same venue, struggling Mathare United will host title contenders Tusker FC at 1:00 PM.
Tusker, who were temporarily overtaken by Kenya Police at the summit, are aiming to extend their 12-match unbeaten streak.
They come into the clash on the back of a 1-0 win over Nairobi City Stars, a result that put them back in title contention.
A draw would level them on points with Police, though the latter would retain top spot due to a superior goal difference.
John Kamau’s Mathare United have experienced inconsistent form this season.
They suffered a 2-0 defeat to Bidco United last weekend, halting a promising two-match winning run.
They currently sit 10th with 33 points, and a win on Sunday would solidify their position while enhancing their points tally.
