- Sinisa Mihic watched the second half from the stands as Gor Mahia won 1-0 against KCB.
- The match between Gor Mahia and KCB was played on Monday at Kenyatta Stadium.
- Mihic remains unbeaten since taking over Gor Mahia in February.
Gor Mahia head coach Sinisa Mihic has apologized to the referee, yet he criticized their poor officiating following his own unsporting behavior, which earned him a red card during Gor Mahia’s narrow 0-1 victory over KCB at Kenyatta Stadium on Monday morning.
The Croatian watched the second half of the match from the stands, marking his seventh game since taking charge of the team.
Despite his ejection, Gor Mahia secured three vital points, moving closer to the top of the standings.
They are now just three points behind Kenya Police, who lead with 49 points, and two points adrift of second-place Tusker, who have 48 points.

The lone goal for the reigning champions came from Austin Odhambo, who scored with a brilliant free kick, securing their 13th win of the season and extending their unbeaten streak to ten consecutive matches.

Sinisa, who will be unable to stand on the touchline for their next league fixture, apologized to the match referee, Luke Phillip.
However, he also called for those overseeing officiating to carefully monitor the conduct of referees on the field. He expressed frustration at the lack of accountability for persistent fouls, stating,
The important thing I have to say is sorry for the referee from my side. I’m apologizing, but we have eyes, we are not stupid. Very, very wrong decisions…unbelievable. I do not know who controls the referees, but they should see these things in the game.
We cannot have more than 20 fouls from one team—how is that even possible? We are not a team that makes fouls, we are a team that plays football. They made a lot of fouls against us,” Mihic remarked in a post-match interview with Azam TV.
Sinisa Mihic demand accountability
Mihic, still unbeaten since taking over in February, expressed deep suspicion about the refereeing standards, demanding greater accountability.
“Another thing is the extra time. I have already noticed that the wasted time was minimal, yet they added eight minutes. I’ve seen things in the league where they add 8 or 10 minutes when the result is 0-0. I’m starting to become very suspicious now.
There are a lot of things going on, and they should think about how to handle these situations. I can’t believe any referee now because I’ve seen too much. I don’t want to say much more because this is not fair play. We are smart people, and we react because we see something is not right. They should support us as a team and as players.”
