Kenya Lionesses picked up their second win in the final round of the 2025 World Rugby HSBC Sevens Challenger Series on Friday evening.
Lionesses hammered South American representatives Colombia 12-07 in a game that was played in a chilly weather at the Henryk Reyman’s Municipal Stadium in Krakow, Poland.

The Kenya Lionesses had a difficult start to the match which saw both sides went to the half time break without a score.
However, it only took a few seconds from the start of the second half before Sinaida Nyachio put them 5-0, when she opened the gears and outpaced Colombian players before scoring a try.

Grace Okulu made it 10-0 with about four and half minutes remaining to the end of the regulation time when she tricked the opponent’s backline before scoring a try close to the sticks.

The conversion was made successfully this time round to give Kenya Lionesses a commanding 12-0 lead.
The Kenyan queens improved their game after the two tries, making it difficult to Colombia to even make a few successful passes.
Although Colombia managed to get a try at the end of the match, it was too late for them to mount a come back against the Kenya Lionesses, resulting in a 12-07 fulltime score line.

The win helped the Lionesses to proceed to the main cup semifinal of the tournament and increase their chances of becoming the first African nation to win all three titles of the Challenger Series.
Kenya, who are sharpened by Shujaa icon Dennis Mwanja, won both the first and second leg titles of the Challenger Series earlier this year.
The team secured the title at the first leg of the tournament that was played at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town thanks to a 17-12 victory over Argentina
Kenya Lionesses then went on to hammer hosts South Africa 17-0 in the final of the second leg that was staged at the same venue on March 8.
