Former Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) winners Tusker FC will face a litmus test on their title ambitions this Sunday when they face Mara Sugar.
Tusker, who sit second at the moment in the FKFPL table with 47 points, need all three points to keep pressure on leaders Kenya Police, who have collected 48 points so far.
The Brewers travel to the Awendo Stadium on the back of two consecutive victories which came against Posta Rangers and Bidco United respectively.

Mara Sugar vs Tusker FC current form
Tusker secured a 1-0 win in their latest game against Bidco United that was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County. The Charles Okere coached side scored their goal through second half substitute Deogratious Ojok.

Unlike Tusker, Mara Sugar, who gained promotion to the FKFPL this season, have struggled a lot in recent weeks.
The side that occupies the 11th spot in the standings with 28 points have gone back to back games without testing victory.

Tusker FC assistant George Maina says they are ready for the battle
Speaking ahead of the match that is expected to start from 2 pm East African Time (EAT), Tusker FC assistant coach George Maina expressed confidence in his team getting the job done.
“We are in good shape, ready to tackle the game tomorrow. The boys are in high spirits. So we expect a good game tomorrow and I know that we will give the team the three points that it demands. We expect a tough match from Mara Sugar, of course it is a good side with good players.
The boys are motivated. That’s a motivating factor in itself. Tactically, Mara Sugar wants to force us to play in our own half. So, we are ready for that and of course they are strong in the wing play. We have tackled all areas the way we are supposed to tackle them. So, the boys know what they are supposed to do,” commented Maina.

Every point is crucial and the players know that as well. We want to go in with a winning mentality,” he explained.

The Ruaraka based side is expected to be without four players who have been instrumental for them this season because of injuries.

The leading FKFPL top scorer Ryan Ogam is out for one month after undergoing a torn meniscus treatment while Tom Teka and James Kibande are still recovering from hamstring and foot injuries respectively.
Furthermore, Tusker FC forward Mike Oduor is unavailable for selection due to an ankle problem.
