- Felix Kirwa and Bernard Koech finished second and third respectively in the 2025 Seoul Marathon in South Korea.

Kenya road race runners registered excellent performances in various marathons that were held in different parts of the world on Sunday morning.
Felix Kiptoo Kirwa and Bernard Kiprop Koech secured second and third positions respectively at the 2025 Seoul Marathon.
Kiptoo ran out of gas in the final phases of the race to allow his Ethiopian opponent Haftu Teklu Asefa to run away with the title.

Asefa crossed the finishing line in an impressive time of 2:05.42 to narrowly edge out Kirwa, who clocked 2:05.44.

The latter was closely followed by Koech. Koech, who has a personal best of 2:04.09, came in third in 2:05.50.
In the women’s category, Ethiopians ruled the day with Bekelech Gudeta Borecha clocking a lifetime best time of 2:21.36 to lead her fellow countrywomen to a clean podium sweep.
Borecha was followed by Fikrte Wereta Admasu and Mestawut Fikir Truneh. Admasu finished the hotly contested race in 2:22.54 while Truneh registered a time of 2:23.10.
Elsewhere, Kenyan runners George Ngure and Kenneth Kipkemoi finished second and third in that order in the 2025 New Taipei City Marathon.

Ngure braced the unfavorable weather conditions to complete the race in a slow time of 2:14.00. He finished behind Ethiopia’s Mesresha Bera, who triumphed in 2:13.37. Meanwhile, Kipkemboi managed a time of 2:14.06.
The New Taipei City Marathon women’s title went to Ethiopia’s Gadise Mulu, who destroyed the field to set a new course record.

Finally, Kenya’s Vincent Langat won the 2025 Macau 10km today in a course record time. In the women’s category, Kenya’s Cintia Chepngeno came in second with Uganda’s Jesca Chelangat finishing fourth.
