Kenya Police FC will be aiming for three points to climb to the top of the 24/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League table when they host Murang’a SEAL on Saturday afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
The match, which will kick off at 3:00 PM, will see the law enforcers under pressure from the current league leaders Tusker who leapfrogged them to the summit after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win over Posta Rangers on Friday evening at the Dandora Stadium.
As a result, Police (42 points) must secure the three points to reclaim their spot as a draw will leave them behind the brewers.
Despite dropping points in their recent league match with a 0-0 draw against AFC Leopards, Etienne Ndayiragije’s side has been dominant at home, remaining unbeaten in their 12 home fixtures sa they have accumulated 26 points from seven wins and five draws.

Meanwhile, Murang’a SEAL, in their second season in the top flight, are struggling for survival.
They have gone eight matches without a win, leaving them just two points above the relegation zone, ahead of the bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars.

Therefore, John Njogu’s side will be determined not only to end their winless streak but also to secure three crucial points to steer clear of relegation as the battle for survival intensifies.
However, SEAL’s away form has been respectable. They have accumulated 16 points from 12 matches on the road, with four wins, four draws, and four losses.
Murang’a SEAL captain optimistic of league survival
As they fight for survival, SEAL captain John Kiplangat is confident they can bounce back against Police FC, despite the latter’s formidable reputation.
He also urged the club’s fans to continue their support, expressing hope that the team will remain in the top tier.
“Police are a strong team, leading the table, but these big matches are ours to win. Our fans should expect positive results in this match,” Kiplangat told the club media.
“I also want to urge our supporters not to give up on us. They should keep showing up in large numbers as they have in the past. Despite our performances, we need their support, and I believe we can win the remaining matches with their backing.”
In the first leg, Police won narrowly 1-0, with Alfred Leku scoring the only goal.
The match is expected to be intense, with one team fighting to return to the summit and the other battling to get back on track and avoid relegation.

Slum Derby at Dandora
Meanwhile, at the Dandora Stadium, a slum derby will take place between Kariobangi Sharks and Mathare United at 1:00 PM.
Sharks have been struggling recently, failing to win in their last 11 league matches and securing only one victory in 19 matches.
However, after advancing to the round of 16 in the FKF Cup with a 1-0 win over Zetech Titans, their morale is boosted, and they will be eager to continue performing well and avoid falling into the relegation zone, as they are just two points above the bottom spot.
On the other hand, Mathare United are also desperate to return to winning ways after going three matches without a victory. They are also aiming to distance themselves from the relegation zone, where they sit just five points above in 12th place with 27 points.
