Former Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Tusker FC are set to play Ulinzi Stars in a crucial tie on Saturday afternoon.
Tusker visit Ulinzi Stars with the hopes of collecting all the three points that will help them return to the top of the FKFPL standings before leaders Kenya Police FC lock horns with Mara Sugar on Monday, January 26.
The Charles Okere-coached side sit second at the moment with 33 points, with only the goal difference separating them from Kenya Police FC.
Tusker, who are one of the favorites to end Gor Mahia’s dominance in the league this season, have been boosted by the timely return of Lawrence Luvanda from Injury.

Luvanda has been out for more than two months due to a hamstring issue and he is expected to play an instrumental role in Tusker FC’s title charge.
Speaking ahead of the Ulinzi Stars clash, Luvanda appreciated the support that he received from the Tusker FC fraternity and his family during the recovery period.
“I am so happy. It has been a tough journey. Two months being sidelined due to a hamstring injury, but I am happy to be back. My family has been with me during this difficult time.
The team has also supported me and I want to thank all of them. I want to give back to the team by scoring, assisting and ensuring the team wins,” he offered.
Luvanda added that his target is to score eight goals and provide assists by the end of the season in order to help the team win the title.
However, it is not yet clear whether the player who has already found the back of the net once this season, will be included in the team that is expected to play Ulinzi Stars.
Tusker FC will be seeking to continue with their great form that has seen them register four wins in their recent five matches.

The Brewers defeated Gor Mahia 2-1 in their latest game that was played on Sunday, January 19 at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Ryan Ogam, who sits at the top of the top scorers’ chart, netted two goals to increase his tally to 15 goals while Austine Odhiambo was on the score sheet for K’Ogalo.
Unlike Tusker FC, Ulinzi have had a challenging season so far that has seen them pick up 22 points from 11 matches.

The soldiers narrowly beat Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 six days ago, a result that is likely to give them the much-needed confidence going into Saturday’s fixture.

The two fixtures are scheduled to start at 4 PM and 3 PM respectively.
