AFC Leopards suffered their third and second consecutive loss in the 24/24 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season after falling to a 2-0 defeat against an improved Ulinzi Stars at Kinoru Stadium on Sunday.

The match marked Ulinzi’s second victory of the season, elevating them to 8th place with 9 points, while AFC Leopards dropped to 5th with 10 points.

Ulinzi broke the deadlock in the 60th minute with a goal from Yakeen Mutheli Yakego. Shortly after, substitute Adhiambo Edward made a threatening shot that went over the bar, denying Ulinzi a second goal.

However, Ulinzi continued to pressure until the last minutes, and Telena Ochieng found Boniface Muchiri in the box who scored a stunning goal to seal the win for the military side.

In other matches, KCB’s unbeaten run came to an end following a 1-0 defeat to Mathare United at Dandora Stadium.

Starlone Odhiambo’s excellent assist to Meshack Otieno helped the Slum Boys secure their third win of the season after 8 matches, despite missing four players who were suspended midweek.

Paul Kamau’s side delivered an impressive performance, while Patrick Odhiambo’s team lost three crucial points that could have extended their lead at the summit.

At Kenyatta Stadium, newly promoted Mara Sugar celebrated a 2-0 victory over Bidco United, marking their fourth win of the season in the top tier league.

Following the triumph, George Midenyo’s team sits in second place with 14 points, just 3 points behind KCB.

The match was ignited by an early goal from Meshack Karani in the 4th minute, followed by Michael Isabwa, who assisted on the first goal to double their lead.

At Gusii Stadium, Shabana FC suffered another defeat, losing 1-0 to Nairobi City Stars.

Shabana remains winless this season, now sitting at the bottom of the table, while the team’s coaching situation remains uncertain.

The only goal of the match came from Mahammed Ali in the early minutes, securing a narrow win for Nairobi City Stars after their earlier victory against Gor Mahia.
