Kenya 7s head coach Kevin Wambua has named a strong 12-man squad for the 2026 Africa Men’s 7s tournament in Mauritius, set for October 3–4 at the SPARC International Rugby Stadium in Cascavelle.
The Mauritius tournament is the second competition in the revised 2026 Africa Men’s Sevens Series and will bring together eight teams, with Kenya drawn in Pool B alongside Namibia, Réunion and Madagascar.
While several key Shujaa players will be missing in action, Wambua has opted for a blend of experience and emerging talent, with four players set to make their Shujaa debuts on the international stage.

Led by rising Kabras Sugar flanker Patrick Sabatia, who has earned his first national team call-up, the squad also features Menengai Oilers sensation Glacious Owino.
Owino enjoyed an impressive run in the 2026 SportPesa 7s circuit, finishing as the Top Try Scorer and Top Points Scorer at tournaments such as Dala 7s and Kabeberi 7s.
Meanwhile, Dennis Livoi and Lucky Onyango have also received their maiden call-ups, while Elvis Olukusi and Rayvon Ambale will lead the side as co-captains.
Kenya 7s regulars Gabriel Ayimba, David Nyangige and Victor Odhiambo have made the cut, alongside Kabras man Brian Mutua, experienced Clinton Amukwachi and Arnold Agonda, completing the squad.

Shujaa will open their campaign on Saturday, October 3, against Namibia at 8:44am EAT before returning to action later in the day against Réunion at 11:50am EAT.
Their final Pool B fixture will be against Madagascar at 2:40pm EAT.
The Mauritius assignment will provide valuable international competition for Wambua’s charges as they continue preparations for the 28th edition of Safari 7s, which will be staged at Nyayo National Stadium from October 9–11.
Kenya enters the Mauritius tournament as one of the continent’s established sevens sides.
Under the revised Rugby Africa format, Kenya and South Africa retain the top two positions in the 2026 Africa Men’s Sevens rankings, while the Mauritius tournament will determine the rankings among the participating teams placed below them.
The Kenya 7s squad is set to depart on Thursday, October 1.
