The Kenya Morans, the national second-string sevens team, extended their winning streak in the 2025 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s Cup to three matches, topping Pool A after edging out defending champions Uganda 12-5 in a fiercely contested encounter held at Labourdonnais Sports Club in Mauritius.

Following commanding victories over Ivory Coast (36-0) and Ghana (33-0) in their opening fixtures, the Morans encountered a dogged Ugandan defense in first half, with neither side able to break the deadlock

Kenya maintained territorial superiority, but Uganda held firm, showcasing resilient defense that denied coach Louis Kisia’s charges any breakthrough in the opening seven minutes.

Uganda came into the second half with renewed vigor, yet it was the Morans who drew first blood through Dennis Abukuse, opening the scoreboard at 5-0.

Kenya swiftly doubled their tally with a well-crafted try from captain George Ooro, his second of the day.

Jackson Siketi added the conversion, extending the lead to 12-0.
