Tusker FC defeated reigning Sportpesa League champions Gor Mahia with a 3-1 win in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Super Cup match played at the Nyayo National Stadium, securing the first silverware of the season.
Gor Mahia Head Coach trusted off-season signing Humphrey Katasi in goal, with Ugandan import Dennis Omedi getting the nod to start upfront alongside Enock Machaka and Ebenezer Adukwaw.
Tusker FC Head Coach Julien Mette handed a debut to new signing from Police, Alvin Mang’eni, on the right wing, while Crispine Erambo captained the team in the absence of injured Abud Omar as John Otieno and Francis Oduor filled in at centre-back.

The first chance of the match fell to Ben Stanley Omondi in the ninth minute; a swift move on the left by Adukwaw found Stanley in the six-yard box, but his shot on target was too feeble to trouble Perrauld Ndinga.
The Brewers responded instantly as a long ball found Yakeen Muteheli, but his cross was cleared off the line by Mike Kibwage.
K’Ogalo would get another chance ten minutes later from a long throw by Dan Sakari, with Ben Stanley meeting it on the far post but skiing his effort wide.
The deadlock was finally broken from a weak freekick by Servyl Akouala, which was only half-cleared, falling into the path of Francis Oduor, who slotted a low shot home.
Tusker doubled their lead two minutes later after a routine run by Alvin Mang’eni on the left, laying it over to right-back Eugene Ikutwa, who struck a ferocious shot past Katasi.
K’Ogalo halved the deficit just before the break when a long throw from Daniel Sakari was turned into his own net by Eugene Ikutwa, sending the teams into the interval at 2-1.
Hoping to bag an equalizer, K’Ogalo made two changes at the halftime break, introducing Shariff Musa and Ebenezer Assifuah.
Gor started on the front foot in the second half, testing Brewers goalkeeper Perrauld Ndinga twice through Bryton Onyona and Ebenezer Adukwaw, but the shot-stopper neatly saved both efforts.
Things got worse for Gor as Tusker regained their two-goal lead, with the smallest player on the pitch, Ian Simiyu, rising highest to head home past Humphrey Katasi.
Tusker FC would hold on to secure their 3-1 victory and lift the FKF Super Cup trophy.
