The stage is set for the fourth leg of the 2026 SportPesa National Sevens circuit with a mouth-watering Division One draw unveiled for the Driftwood 7s, scheduled for August 22–23 at the Mombasa Sports Club.

The draw was conducted shortly after the conclusion of the Kabeberi 7s final in Nairobi, where KCB Rugby defeated Strathmore Leos 14-12 to claim the title at the RFUEA Grounds, setting the tone for the circuit’s migration to the Coast.

In Pool A, Kenya Harlequin lead the group following a consistently strong showing that keeps them third on the overall standings.

Joining Quins in what promises to be an explosive pool are title contenders Kabras Sugar, who will be eager to bounce back from an early knockout exit in Nairobi. The pool is completed by former winners Nondescripts RFC and host club Mombasa Sports Club.

Pool B features circuit leaders and newly crowned Kabeberi 7s champions KCB Rugby eager to build on their momentum at the summit.

The Bankers who are also the Driftwood 7s defending champions, will face university side KU Blak Blad in a quick rematch after surviving a tense 10-7 quarterfinal battle against the varsity lads in Nairobi, alongside Kisumu RFC and regional invitees Uganda 7s.

In Pool C, Dala 7s finalists Menengai Oilers stand as the top seed as they look to build on their solid performances in recent legs.

The Oilers will contend with varsity outfit Daystar Falcons, Nakuru RFC, and coastal regional representatives Kilifi RFC.

Pool D rounds up the draw with Kabeberi 7s runners-up Strathmore Leos headlining the group as the top seed.

The academic side will face Mwamba RFC, MMUST Rugby, and newly promoted NYS Spades, who make the step up after claiming the Division Two Cup title at Kabeberi.

Following the Driftwood 7s, teams will enjoy a short break before resuming action at the Embu Sevens on September 5-6, preceding the 60th edition of the Christie Sevens in Nairobi on September 12-13, where the 2026 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit champions will officially be crowned.
