The race for honours in Division Two of the SportPesa National 7s Circuit is set for another intriguing chapter this weekend, with the pools for the 2026 Driftwood 7s Division Two confirmed ahead of the fourth leg of the series at Mombasa Sports Club.

A total of 20 teams will descend on the coast on August 22 and 23, with the sides divided into five pools of four as they battle for progression to the knockout stages and valuable points in the national circuit.

With the competition entering its fourth leg, the Driftwood 7s presents another opportunity for teams to strengthen their position in the series while giving players a chance to test themselves against different styles and levels of opposition.

The pool stage will be particularly important, with every side needing to start strongly to keep its hopes of reaching the knockout rounds alive.

Pool A brings together Zetech Oaks, TUM Marines, Sigalagala NP and JKUAT Cougars. The four sides will be looking to make an early statement, with consistency across their pool matches likely to be crucial in determining who advances.

Pool B features Catholic Monks, South Coast Pirates, Malindi Turtles and Kabarak University. With four teams battling for limited places in the knockout phase, the pool is expected to produce closely contested matches as the sides look to secure a strong start on Saturday.

In Pool C, Impala RFC headline a group that also includes Jackals, Kaya Rugby and Northern Suburbs. Impala bring considerable experience to the pool and will be among the sides looking to set the pace, although the other three teams will be determined to challenge for the available knockout berths.

Pool D consists of Stallions Rugby, KCNP, KCA University and Makueni Ravens. The group offers another competitive mix, with all four teams knowing that there will be little room for dropped points if they are to progress deep into the tournament.

Meanwhile, Pool E features Embu RFC, Shanzu Marlins, MKU Thika and Mean Machine.

The coastal setting should add another dimension to the tournament, with the teams expected to contend with the conditions at Mombasa Sports Club as they pursue valuable circuit points.

As the SportPesa National 7s Circuit heads into its fourth leg, the pressure will continue to rise for teams chasing a place among the leading Division Two outfits. Every try, conversion and defensive stand could prove important as the competition unfolds.

With 20 teams spread across five pools and only the strongest advancing to the knockout stages, Driftwood 7s promises two days of competitive sevens rugby and another opportunity for emerging players and established sides to make their mark on the national circuit.
