The wait is finally over as the 2026 Prinsloo 7s kicks offs this weekend at Nakuru Athletic Club (NAC Grounds), officially launching this year’s SportPesa National Sevens Circuit.
The two-day tournament, running on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, will see Kenya’s top rugby clubs battle for the first title of the six-leg circuit.
This year’s edition is expected to be one of the most competitive yet, with action in the Division One, Division Two and Ladies categories, giving fans a full weekend of entertaining rugby.

Where to Watch
Fans unable to travel to Nakuru will still be able to follow every match live as the tournament will be streamed on SportPesa YouTube channel, bringing every try, tackle and final to rugby lovers across the country.

- Season Ticket – KSh 900

Rugby fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early ahead of what is expected to be a packed weekend.
Division One Pools
Sixteen teams have been divided into four pools.
- Pool A: Kabras Sugar, Kenya Harlequins, Mwamba RFC, Embu RFC
- Pool B: Strathmore Leos, Daystar Falcons, MMUST RFC, Kisumu RFC
- Pool C: KCB Rugby, CUEA Monks, NYS Spades, Nondescripts
- Pool D: Menengai Oilers, Nakuru RFC, Impala RFC, KU Blak Blad
Defending Prinsloo 7s champions Strathmore Leos return looking to win a third consecutive title after defeating KCB Rugby 26-7 in last year’s final.
Meanwhile, overall National Sevens Circuit champions KCB Rugby will be hoping to begin their title defence strongly.
Hosts Nakuru RFC will also enjoy home support as they take on regional rivals Menengai Oilers in one of the toughest pools.
Prinsloo 7s Div II pools
The Division Two competition has been reduced from 20 to 16 teams this season following the introduction of the women’s tournament across most circuit legs.
The pools are:
- Pool A: Makueni Ravens, KCA University, Kabarak University, NYS Scorpions
- Pool B: Zetech Oaks, MKU Thika, Nandi Bears, UoE Trojans
- Pool C: Homeboyz Rugby, Northern Suburbs, Kitale Rugby, Egerton Wasps
- Pool D: AP Warriors, Stallions Rugby, Eldopoly Community, Molo Rugby Club
Ladies Competition
The women’s tournament continues to grow and features eight teams split into two pools, with all pool matches taking place on Saturday before the knockout rounds on Sunday.
Among the teams expected to light up the competition are Impala Roans, Kenya Harlequin, Mwamba RFC Ladies, NYS Ladies, Nakuru Ladies, Pioneer Ladies, Northern Suburbs and Kiambaa Ladies.

New Format for the 2026 Circuit
The 2026 National Sevens Circuit has adopted a new structure, with five of the six tournaments featuring 40 teams—16 Division One sides, 16 Division Two teams and eight women’s teams.
Only the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa will revert to the traditional 36-team format.
The changes are aimed at promoting women’s rugby while also giving more regional men’s clubs an opportunity to compete at the national level.
The circuit continues to enjoy sponsorship from SportPesa, which has committed KSh 34.14 million for the fourth consecutive year.
