Harambee Stars striker Moses Shumah continued his red-hot scoring form in the Zambian topflight, hitting the 20-goal mark as Power Dynamos cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Kabwe Warriors at Railway Stadium.
The Kenyan forward was once again the standout performer, bagging a clinical brace to lead his side to a statement win that not only strengthened their grip at the summit but also underlined his growing reputation as one of the league’s deadliest finishers.
Shumah has now surged to 20 goals for the season, putting him just six shy of equaling the all-time single-season scoring record in the Zambian Premier League.
Power Dynamos, fresh from a hard-fought derby win over Nkana, wasted no time asserting their dominance.

Moses Shumah hits 20-goal milestone
Barely two minutes into the contest, Shumah opened the scoring, timing his run to perfection before latching onto a defence-splitting pass from Fredrick Mulambia and calmly slotting past goalkeeper Mangani Banda.
The early goal set the tone for what would be a ruthless first-half display from the league leaders.
Just nine minutes later, Shumah doubled the advantage after another moment of brilliance from Mulambia who orchestrated the move with composure before squaring the ball into the striker’s path.
Shumah made no mistake, applying a sublime finish that left the Warriors defence chasing shadows.
With Kabwe Warriors still reeling, Power Dynamos struck again in the 27th minute through midfielder Daniel Adoko.
The industrious midfielder capitalized on a loose ball in midfield and unleashed a ferocious long-range strike that rocketed into the roof of the net, a goal worthy of any highlight reel and one that effectively put the game beyond reach before the half-hour mark.

The hosts attempted to respond, with Francis Banda coming closest after weaving his way past multiple defenders, only to see his effort ripple the side netting.
In search of a lifeline, Warriors coach George Chilufya rang the changes with a triple substitution, but Power’s defensive organization remained compact and disciplined.
After the restart, the tempo dipped slightly as Power Dynamos managed the game professionally, maintaining possession and nullifying any attacking threat from the hosts.
Coach Osward Mutapa later shuffled his pack, making five changes to keep his squad fresh ahead of their upcoming Absa Cup quarterfinal clash.

Late drama unfolded in stoppage time when goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga was sent off for handling the ball outside the box. With all substitutions exhausted, midfielder Owen Tembo was forced to don the gloves.
Despite the unusual role, Tembo produced two outstanding reflex saves to deny late efforts from Kabwe Warriors, preserving the clean sheet in heroic fashion and earning the Fans’ Player of the Match accolade.
The result sees Power Dynamos open up a seven-point gap at the top of the table with 61 points from 27 matches, further cementing their title credentials.
“We take the three points. We used our moments well when we had chances in the first half,” said Power Dynamos Head Coach Mutapa after the match.
Before kick-off, both teams observed a moment of silence in honour of Cephas Mulombwa, who tragically lost his life in a road accident, adding a somber note to an otherwise dominant performance by the visitors.
