A product of the Bristol City Academy, Vyner joined the Robins as a youngster in 2006 before turning professional in 2015.
Over the years, he developed into one of the club’s most reliable performers, going on to make 264 appearances in all competitions and becoming one of the most consistent defenders in the English Championship.

Vyner arrives at Wrexham having spent his entire professional career at Bristol City, aside from several loan spells that helped shape his development.
He featured for Accrington Stanley, Plymouth Argyle, Rotherham United and Scottish side Aberdeen before cementing his place in the Bristol City starting XI from the 2020/21 season onwards.

Last season, he was ever-present as the Robins reached the Championship play-offs, underlining his durability and importance at a high level.
Speaking after completing the move, Vyner could not hide his excitement about joining a club on a remarkable upward trajectory.
“I’m over the moon. I think Wrexham’s ambition and the project that is already well underway the back-to-back-to-back promotions is something you can’t help but admire from afar,” Vyner said.
“Now that I’m involved, I can’t wait to help out.”

The versatile defender, who can operate across the back line, also highlighted his desire to bring leadership and experience into the squad.
“I know a few of the lads, I know how good the squad is, and for me now it’s about showing some leadership, using what I’ve learned over the last ten years and helping an already good group become even better,” he added.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson echoed those sentiments, praising Vyner’s experience and professionalism.
“We’re delighted to welcome Zak Vyner to the club. He’s an experienced Championship player and we’re really looking forward to working with him,” Parkinson said.
For Kenyan football fans, Vyner’s move represents another important milestone. Although he is yet to make his official debut for Harambee Stars, the defender received his first national team call-up last year, only for paperwork issues to prevent him from featuring.
His consistent performances in England and now his move to an ambitious Wrexham side could reignite hopes of seeing him finally pull on the national colours.
