Kenyan defender Zak Vyner has been voted Bristol City Player of the Month for September after topping the supporters’ poll.
Vyner edged out competition from Rob Atkinson (England), Ross McCrorie (Scotland), and Anis Mehmeti (Albania) to claim the award.
The 28-year-old played every minute for the Robins during the month, continuing his consistent form from last season when he featured in all of the club’s matches.

His performances have made him a cornerstone in the Bristol City backline, attracting transfer interest in the off-season transfer window from Wrexham, though a deal never materialized.
With his contract set to run down in the next eight months, the club may need to secure his future to avoid losing one of their most reliable players.

Vyner’s fine form also earned him the Thatcher’s Pick of the Match after City’s goalless draw against Preston North End last weekend.
Zak Vyner remains eligible to represent Kenya
Vyner remains eligible to represent Kenya and has openly shown willingness to do so. Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy recently confirmed this, stating
“He definitely wants to come and play for the national team.”
Vyner, born in Peckham, London, and raised in Bath, qualifies to play for Kenya through his mother while his father is English.

Bristol City, who narrowly missed out on promotion through the playoffs last season, have started strongly this campaign.
With Vyner marshalling the defense alongside Atkinson and McCrorie, they have lost only one match while registering three wins and four draws, a run that sees them sitting fifth in the English Championship table.
The Robins will be hoping to continue with their impressive form when they take on Queens Park Rangers on Saturday in the English Championship.
