The most notable tactical adjustment came from the hosts as Humphrey Obina, traditionally a right-back, was pushed into a more advanced role to exploit his pace against the Gor Mahia defense.

The first real chance came from a setpiece as Ghanaian import Ebenezer Adukwaw hit a powerful shot that was parried away by Shabana’s Goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’ just before the quarter hour mark.

The visitors would knock once again five minutes later, Shariff Musa latched onto a freekick by Morrison but his header went just wide.

The hosts made their attempt at goal from a Humphrey Obina freekick responding almost immediately with the ever dangerous Freekick specialist Obina hitting a ferocious ball from distance that struck the crossbar before going out for a goalkick.

Gor were forced into an early change just before the half hour mark, Ben Stanley Omondi got injured and was stretchered off with Jackson Dwang replacing him for his debut.

Kogalo’s best chance at goal however came from a Felix Olouch shot from the left that was saved by Ochieng’ for the score to progress goalless at halftime.

The start of the second half saw Tore Bobe introduce their talisman Brian Michira replacing Derick Otieno.

The largely conservative half saw Nsubugo come close to giving the glamour boys the lead after a nice exchange of play with Michira and Otieno who teed him up for a beautiful shot that was saved by Matthews.

Shabana would knock once again via Substitute Ezekiah Omuri but his shot was blocked from close range by Kibwage.

Despite repeated forays from both teams the score was tied at full-time.

The goalless draw means Shabana twenty five year winless run against Gor Mahia is upheld while Kogalo missed the chance to go top of the Sportpesa League table.
