• Nairobi United vs AFC Leopards will clash on Wednesday, January 7, in a rescheduled SportPesa League match.
  • The thrilling encounter will be staged at Nyayo National Stadium.
  • Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM EAT.

SportPesa League newcomers Nairobi United are hoping to make it three wins on the bounce when they host AFC Leopards on Wednesday at the Nyayo Stadium.

The match is a rescheduled matchday two tie, which had to be moved due to the hosts participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Nairobi United are coming off a morale-boosting 3-1 away victory at Shabana, lifting them into ninth place with 19 points, while Leopards were beaten 1-0 by their western rivals Kakamega Homeboyz.

Despite the loss, Leopards remain in second place with 24 points, level with leaders Homeboyz and Tusker who are in third.

Both sides have consistently shown their ability to score goals and there’s a lot more at stake, with a victory for Leopards taking them to the top of the table.

While Nairobi United is stating their intention to make it a permanent stay in the SportPesa League, Leopards are seeking a first title in a staggering 28 years.

The Nairobi-based outfit has already made a couple of new signings to bolster their squad since the transfer window opened last week, bringing in Roy Okal from Sofapaka and Tusker’s John Njuguna.

This will be the first competitive match between these two sides and it is expected to be a mouthwatering encounter, guaranteed to provide an entertaining battle.
