On Monday, title sponsors SportPesa released an official statement expressing deep regret over the unfortunate events that unfolded at Dandora Stadium.

“As the title sponsor of the League and the main sponsor of Gor Mahia FC, this is not in the spirit of the vision we hold and where we want to take the game,” the statement read. While reaffirming their push for increased fan attendance through initiatives such as #TwendeGame, SportPesa stressed that stadiums must remain safe and secure for all stakeholders.

The gaming firm further pledged to work closely with FKF, participating clubs, and security agencies to not only resolve the matter but also introduce preventive measures aimed at avoiding similar incidents in the future. Improving matchday experiences across SportPesa League venues remains a key priority.
