FKF President Hussein Mohammed has strongly condemned the acts of hooliganism that forced the abandonment of the Sportpesa League clash between Nairobi United and Gor Mahia at Dandora Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The match was halted in the second half with the score tied at 1-1 at the time of abandonment .
Chaos erupted shortly after Ovella Ochieng scored a 59th-minute equalizer for Nairobi United, canceling out Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw’s first-half opener for the league leaders.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed condemns violence
In a stern statement released late Sunday, President Hussein Mohammed made it clear that the federation would take decisive action against those responsible for the violence.
“I strongly condemn the acts of hooliganism that forced the abandonment of today’s Nairobi United vs Gor Mahia match. This behaviour will not be tolerated in Kenyan football,” Mohammed stated on his social media accounts.
The president further confirmed that FKF has formally initiated disciplinary processes, with the matter being referred to the federation’s judicial bodies.
Beyond football sanctions, Hussain has said that criminal investigations are being pursued, requiring both club and match officials to record statements with the relevant authorities.
During the match, a Broadcasting van belonging to the league’s broadcaster was also vandalized, in his statement, the president has confirmed full support for the Tanzanian broadcasting giants.
” Our partners must be protected, and those responsible will be held accountable.”

Home side Nairobi United echoed the President’s sentiments, releasing their own statement to distance the club from the violence.
” We strongly condemn the acts of hooliganism witnessed today. Such behavior has no place in our game,” the Nairobi United statement read.
The abandonment leaves a cloud of uncertainty over the league table. Gor Mahia entered the match at the top of the standings with 23 points heading into their final match of the year.
The FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee is expected to rule on whether the match will be replayed, resumed, or awarded as a walkover in the coming days.
