Kenya Police FC will host Shabana on Sunday in the headliner of the SportPesa League Gameweek eleven fixtures at the Police Sacco Grounds in Nairobi’s South C.

Police return home after the dramatic late away 3-2 victory against Bidco United in the midweek fixture.

Kenya Police vs Shabana preview

Shabana, who will be without the services of their head coach Peter Okidi, are ninth after nine matches in the 2025/26 season. Their assistant coach, Bernard Mwalala, will continue to take charge of the Gusii-based club.

This marks the fifth time the two teams are meeting in a league clash. Police have secured two wins, with one match ending in a draw, while Shabana have bagged one win in their past fixtures. All the wins in their encounters have been with a 1-0 scoreline.

Police FC have been on a resurgence, winning their last three consecutive fixtures and four out of their last five games, with the only loss being against Gor Mahia.

Under Serb Dusan Stojanovic, who will be managing his sixth match, they have won four of those fixtures.

On the other end, Tore Bobe have encountered a tumultuous streak, winning just one of their last seven matches. They have failed to score more than one goal since their Gameweek one 4-2 victory over APS Bomet.

Shabana will miss the services of four players who have been sidelined with injury, their talisman Brian Michira, captain George Orako, attacking midfielder Derrick Oketch and central midfielder Justin Omwando.

The law enforcers will be without Brian Okoth, Emmanuel Erupe and Albert Otieno, who were recently recruited into the National Police Service Recruits Training school in Kiganjo.

Police FC Coach Dusan Stojanovic is wary of the importance the fixture possesses.

“We are going to face one of the three historical teams in Kenya with a big and passionate fan base and this is our next step to perform at home.

This is football, and in football, it’s always nice to have many matches, so now we are preparing to make sure we get a positive result.”

A win for the hosts will potentially catapult them to the top of the table with two matches in hand, while victory for Shabana will be a much-needed boost to push them to fifth on the table.
