British-born Kenyan young striker Ray Robert has taken a major step in his football career after signing his first professional contract with English Premier League side Everton FC.
The 17-year-old, who has been with the Merseyside club since the age of seven, has penned a three-year deal that will keep him at Goodison Park until 2028.
Robert, a powerful and technically gifted centre forward, currently features for the club’s U18 side in the Premier League U18 competition.

Born to Kenyan parents, Ray remains eligible to represent Harambee Stars at the international level despite holding a British passport.
According to British media outlets, Robert’s performances have drawn attention from a number of scouts including from Manchester United, Liverpool with the youngster being viewed as one of the most promising dual-national prospects.
In the ongoing 2025/26 season, Robert has made five appearances for Everton U18s, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He has been named in the starting XI in 80% of those matches, averaging 73% of total minutes played and contributing directly to half of Everton’s goals in that span, an impressive feat for a teenager still finding his footing in academy football.

Kenyan young striker Ray Robert excited
Reflecting on his new deal, Robert could not hide his excitement.
“It’s a surreal moment for me and my family,” he said after putting pen to paper. “It’s what you dream about growing up as a kid, to be a professional footballer at Everton, a massive club.
I’ve been here since I was seven, and I’m grateful to all the coaches and staff who have helped me along the way. With my development, I feel like I’ve improved a lot as a player, so I’m very happy with that.”
Earlier this year, Robert made history after becoming the first Evertonian to score at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, finding the back of the net against Wigan Athletic during the ground’s maiden test event in February.
Robert now joins Tyler Onyango, another youngster of Kenyan descent, in the Everton system.
Onyango, who also came through the club’s academy, is currently on loan at Stockport County in England’s League One and recently revealed he is ready to represent Kenya when called upon.
