Nyanza football fans will be treated to a thrilling display of grassroots talent this Sunday, October 26, 2025, when the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba tournament by SportPesa takes center stage at the Raila Odinga Stadium for the Nyanza Region.
The tournament, which kicks off at 8 a.m., is part of SportPesa’s wider Tujiamini initiative, an ongoing programme aimed at empowering grassroots teams and sports talent across the country.
In the men’s category, six teams will battle for the ultimate prize, a three-year sponsorship deal worth KSh 250,000 per year.
The competing clubs include Shabana Youth, Bobaracho Football Club, Bondo United FC, Sindo Select, Awendo Football Club and Mawego United FC.
The women’s division will feature a single high stakes encounter between Masosa Starlets FC and Magina Starlets FC, with the winner walking away with a KSh 50,000 reward courtesy of the SportPesa Tujiamini Cheza Dimba Initiative.
The SportPesa Tujiamini Cheza Dimba Initiative’s objective is to nurture grassroots football and give promising clubs the exposure and financial boost they need to grow.
It focuses on identifying, exploring and empowering Kenya’s sports and talent ecosystem. The programme invested more than KSh 30 million in various sporting and creative ventures in its first year, reaching all 47 counties and impacting hundreds of athletes, artists, and community teams across the country.
That amount increased to 70 million in the second year.
The Cheza Dimba segment specifically targets football development, offering local teams a platform to showcase their skills while competing for sponsorship and visibility.
For many upcoming clubs, this opportunity can be career-changing, offering not only financial backing but also access to broader exposure within Kenya’s football community.
