Tusker FC captain Charles Momanyi and midfielder Issa Lumumba are confident that the Brewers will finally register their first win of the season when they take on in-form Shabana FC on Sunday, October 5, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, as from 4.00 PM.
The Brewers have endured a difficult start to the SportPesa League 25/26 campaign, losing their opening two matches before managing a goalless draw against Mathare United in their most recent outing. However, the camp remains positive as they look to get their season back on track.

Speaking during the team’s final training session, Momanyi expressed optimism ahead of the tie.
“The motivation is high, especially after our last match where we managed to get our first point after losing two games. In tomorrow’s match, we’re going for three points,” he said.

The skipper believes it’s still too early to rule Tusker out of the title race despite their sluggish start.
“Shabana have had a better start, but we still have many matches to play. Losing two games doesn’t mean we’re out of the title race. It was just a minor setback. We’ve corrected the mistakes from those matches, and that’s why we kept a clean sheet last time out. Now we’re focused on getting a win against Shabana,” Momanyi added.

Midfielder Issa Lumumba, who joined the brewers from Ulinzi Stars during the off-season, echoed the captain’s confidence.
“We have not started well, but it is just a bad start, not a bad season. We will do our best in the next game. It has been tough for us and our fans because we all want to win. Coach Okere has been calm and confident with us, and from our training this week, I believe our first win will come against Shabana,” Lumumba said.
Tusker will rely on their experienced squad to try and secure their first win of the season as they seek to climb up the SportPesa League standings.
