Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere

Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has urged match officials to improve the quality of officiating in the SportPesa League ahead of their clash with Shabana FC this Sunday at Kasarani Stadium.

Speaking at Ruaraka Grounds, the team’s training base, Okere reflected on what he described as questionable officiating in their opening match against KCB particularly an incident where KCB right-back Nashon Wekesa received two yellow cards but was not shown a red and went on to complete the match.

â€śIt is unfortunate what happened, as such incidents also occurred against us last season. I understand referees are humans and can make mistakes, but my appeal is for them to give their best when officiating games,” said Okere.

“In our first match against KCB, as everyone saw, a player received two yellow cards but continued to play. It should be about applying the laws of the game effectively. I believe we will see improvements in the coming matches.”

The Brewers have endured a difficult start to the season, losing their first two matches to KCB and Posta Rangers before managing a goalless draw against Mathare United.

Coach Okere, however, remains confident that his side will turn things around starting with tomorrow’s match against Shabana.

“Tomorrow we are going to face a team that has had a good run in the first two matches but we are confidently building something as Tusker Fc so we are proud of the boys and with the motivation in our camp high we look forward to getting out first three points tomorrow.

Tusker will be looking to secure their first win of the season when they face Shabana, who are yet to lose a match this campaign.
