Shabana FC coach Peter Okidi has declared that the team is going all in this season, with their sights set squarely on clinching the 2025/26 Sportpesa League title.
Now in their third consecutive top-tier campaign since their promotion in 2023, the Glamour Boys have consistently delivered performances of a high caliber, culminating in a fifth-place finish last season.
Their current campaign is underway with impressive intensity, boasting a perfect 100% record from their first two matches.

Leading the table with six points, Shabana kicked off with a 4-2 victory over APS Bomet at the Gusii Stadium, before traveling to Mombasa to secure a hard-fought 0-1 win against Bandari FC at the Mbaraki Sports Club.

Shabana FC coach Okidi vows to win SportPesa League title
Speaking to Azam Sports TV after the triumph over Bandari, Okidi affirmed that the team’s objective from the outset has been nothing less than winning the championship.
“When we started the season, we had our vision. In fact, we are here not just to compete but to win the league title, I can’t shy away from saying that. So, all we have to do is remain humble this season, pray to God, and work even harder to secure more positive results going forward,” Okidi stated.

His words echo the ambition of last season when the team found themselves in the title conversation with only a few matches remaining.
However, their challenge faltered after a costly loss to Mara Sugar, a defeat by the eventual champions Kenya Police, and dropped points in a stalemate with Ulinzi Stars.
This season, they are determined to go all the way and claim their maiden top-flight title, aiming to snatch it from Kenya Police, who clinched it for the first time last season.
How Shabana secured victory in Mombasa

Reflecting on the crucial away win, Okidi explained that the club’s strategy was to adapt to the coastal weather, a plan that paid dividends.
“We were prepared for this match; we knew the weather wouldn’t favour us. So, we decided to be patient in the first half, preserving our energy for the second period when we anticipated the heat would subside. I’m grateful the game plan worked for us,” he reiterated.
Shabana’s next assignment is an away fixture against a struggling Tusker FC on Sunday, October 5th.
