- Shabana edged Bandari 0-1 to secure back-to-back wins in the 2025/26 SportPesa League.
- The Matchweek 2 encounter was held at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa on Sunday, September 28.
- Brian Michira netted the lone goal for the Glamour Boys, bringing his season tally to three goals.
Brian Michira bagged his third goal of the season as he inspired Shabana FC to a vital away victory, stunning Bandari FC 0-1 at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday afternoon in Matchweek 2 of the 2025/26 SportPesa League.
Michira came into the clash fresh off a stellar performance in Shabana’s 4-2 season opener against APS Bomet at Gusii Stadium, where he netted a sensational brace.
The ace striker is now firmly setting his sights on the Golden Boot, building on his impressive tally of 12 league goals and 5 in the FKF Cup last season for a total of 17.

Under the sweltering temperatures at Mbaraki Sports Club, the match remained a cagey affair for the first 15 minutes.
Both sides probed for openings, with Shabana crafting the clearer chances. Justine Omwando came close, unleashing a thunderous strike from the edge of the box that forced goalkeeper Allain Ngeleka into a sharp save to keep the hosts level.
Bandari’s first clear opportunity arrived in the 34th minute through David Sakwa. He made a clever run down the left flank, but his right-footed effort from inside the box sailed just wide of the far post.
The visitors were nearly gifted the lead a minute later when Ngeleka fumbled the ball, allowing Austin Odongo to pounce. However, the keeper recovered in time to smother the chance before Odon go could guide it into the net.
Just before halftime, Shabana threatened again. Ezekiel Omuri delivered an excellent cross from the right wing, but Keith Imbali, unmarked in the box, could only connect with his shoulder, sending the ball inches wide of the post.
The teams entered the break locked in a goalless draw.
Shabana emerged from the interval with renewed vigor, pressing for the breakthrough. Their persistence paid off in the 64th minute through the in-form Brian Michira.
The super-substitute, Ugandan winger Bronson Nsubuga, delivered a superb cross just moments after taking the field. Michira met it perfectly, turning and firing a crisp finish into the net to break the deadlock.
Bandari struggled to mount a response or create any dangerous attacks that might have yielded an equalizer.
Shabana comfortably controlled possession in the closing stages, seeing out the match to claim all three points. This second consecutive victory gives them a perfect start with six points, propelling them to the top of the table.
Murang’a SEAL stun APS Bomet at Gusii Stadium
In another Sunday fixture, newly-promoted APS Bomet suffered their second consecutive defeat, falling 0-2 at home to Murang’a SEAL. The visitors secured their first three points of the campaign at Gusii Stadium.
APS Bomet’s defensive woes continued; after conceding four goals in their opener against Shabana, they were undone once more by an own goal.
Levis Wanjala then sealed the victory for the Murang’a-based outfit, who bounced back from a 1-0 defeat to Ulinzi in their first match.
